Praised by the biggest music magazines around the world, in 2020 the band signed with legendary British label Damaged Goods. Their third album, “Back in Mono” was released in the Fall 2021 and is a true milestone in their career. The album brings the band in top form, showing great songwriting skills and with broader nuances, influences and sound qualities to their garage rock recipe. Singles, “Want You! Now you best cut the crap cause here are Les Lullies!!! The band was formed back in 2016 by four French cheese-eating attack monkeys. Montpellier’s own sweethearts are in line with a bunch of bands and artists with a simple creed: hop in the van, go everywhere and play rock’n’roll! French-sung only tracks for a more personal twang on their brand of rock’n’roll. Overtones of Normandy’s seminal bands (Fixed Up, Dogs,…) can be heard throughout as well as some other influences ranging from The Real Kids, Phil Spector, and glistening glam rock to some Records-like power pop for good measure and, as always, touches from Australia’s very own Saints. All of this maelstrom digested and fittingly spat out Lullies-style! The record is called ”Mauvaise foi” and sure provides an exciting and much needed rock’n’roll punch in the face, out may 26th 2023!

THE COURETTES album “Back in Mono” took the rock’n’roll world by storm in October 2021 with its perfect blend of garage rock and girl group wrapped in Spectoresque Wall of Sound. “Back in Mono” was critically acclaimed by music magazines all over Europe, UK, USA and Japan, with brilliant reviews at Mojo, Classic Rock, Ox Magazine, Shindig and Rolling Stone, among others. Since “Back in Mono”’s release, The Courettes have been constantly on the road and performed more than 300 shows around the world. Still, they had time to release the equally fabulous “Back in Mono B-Sides & Outtakes” in June 2022.

Now, while The Courettes are on the studio producing their expected new album, due to be released in the Fall 2024 by legendary British label Damaged Goods Records, the band will present the European audiences with a new thread: a unique concert were “Back in Mono” is played in its entirety and order, followed by first hand performances of some of the brand new songs of their upcoming album. Tracks like “Hey Boy”, “Cry Cry Cry”, “My One and Only Baby”, “I Can Hardly Wait” and “To Late to Say I’m Sorry”, never or rarely performed live, will finally have a spot in the setlist, together with hits like “Want you! Like a Cigarette” and “Hop The Twig”, and followed by unreleased tracks that will give a taste of what The Courettes are preparing in their StarrSound Recording Studios right now.

The Nomads: Where the Wolf Bane Blooms 40 /support: Psykedelisk Förskola OBS! Slutsålt

Den enda Malmöspelningen för The Nomads 2023 blir på medley 25 november då man firar 40-årsjubileum för genombrottsplattan ”Where the Wolf Bane Blooms” från 1983. Det blir en kort Sverigeturné med samma tema, övriga spelningar är Debaser i Stockholm 18/11 och Valand i Göteborg 24/11. Gäster kommer att bjudas in och andra överraskningar är tänkbara.

Supporten Psykedelisk förskola levererar kunskapsorienterad enackordsrocknroll. Allt är över på mindre än en fruktstund. Kakburken är länsad. The kids are alright.

I samband med detta kommer en speciell återutgivning av plattan både digitalt och som en LP i begränsad upplaga, båda med bonusmaterial som demoinspelningar och låtar från numera mycket sällsynta tidiga singlar.
Niklas Vahlberg i Nomads kommenterar: ”Where the Wolf Bane Blooms” spelades in i oktober 1983 i Mistlurs studio på vinden i en fallfärdig 1700-talsbyggnad på Maria Prästgårdsgata i Stockholm. Så här i efterhand känns det som vi hade en hel del tur med omständigheterna, det var inte helt självklart att personkemin skulle bli så perfekt med ett oerfaret band, en producent som aldrig tidigare producerat och en tekniker som inte ens var särskilt förtjust i skränig rock ’n’roll…Mistlur-studions väldigt distinkta ljud och speciella atmosfär var en mycket viktig del i det hela.

New Zealand hard rock outfit the Datsuns blazed onto the scene in the early 2000s with their no-frills take on sleazy garage rock, echoing a sound similar to contemporaries like the White Stripes, Jet, and Wolfmother. Their self-titled 2002 debut would prove to be their big breakthrough and peak in popularity in the mainstream, riding high on singles ”MF from Hell” and ”Lady.”
Although subsequent efforts made less of a splash overseas, the band remained a Top 20 presence at home for 2004’s Outta Sight/Outta Mind and 2006’s Smoke & Mirrors. They returned to the charts in 2014 with their sixth LP, Deep Sleep. In 2021, they released their seventh set, Eye to Eye.

Although six months earlier people were telling New Zealand’s Datsuns to give up, London’s music press was hailing them as ”genius” by mid-2002. At that point, the group had already been playing their brand of garage rock for six years, ever since they met at school in Cambridge and formed a band called Trinket. Back in 1997, as Trinket, they won the local radio station’s Battle of the Bands. The following year, now called the Datsuns, they won again. In the years that followed, they released only a handful of singles, all on vinyl and all on their own record label, Hellsquad Records. While beloved by student radio and known for their live Who-like performances, they were a relatively unknown group even at home. Things started to look up in March 2001, when a tour of Australia caused a bit of a stir, especially in Melbourne. Encouraged, the Datsuns made plans to take on London.


First it was the fickle London music press that flocked to the group’s gigs, jostling with each other to hail the Datsuns as the greatest thing they’d seen. Record companies followed, waving checkbooks in their faces. One major-label boss flew in from New York to check out the action. Their London tour of duty had started with the band sleeping on other people’s couches; before long, at least one hopeful record company was fronting hotel bills. In July 2002, the group signed with the V2 label. The bandmembers then prepped for the domestic release of their self-titled effort, which appeared in 2002. The Datsuns topped the charts in New Zealand and was their highest showing in the U.K., where it peaked at number 17. Two years later, the Datsuns returned with Outta Sight/Outta Mind. Smoke & Mirrors followed in 2006. The group released their fourth studio effort, Head Stunts, on Cooking Vinyl in 2008, which was slated for a U.S. domestic release in 2009.

In 2012, the Datsuns delivered the bombastic, hard rock- and psych-rock-tinged Death Rattle Boogie. Two years later, they stayed on the same fuzzed-out path with Deep Sleep. It would be seven more years before the band delivered their seventh album, 2021’s Eye to Eye, but stylistically they remained largely unchanged, serving up another platter of psychedelic crunch that channeled the greats of classic rock.

Urarta från Malmö spelar rå postpunk, alternativ rock med driv och punk med svärta. Bandet släppte en digital EP ’Pace’ i maj 2021. Urarta klev nyligen ur replokalen och har blivit varmt mottagna av publiken. Ny inspelning är på gång.
